Going to my first REIA meeting wednesday any tips?

Simply go with the great attitude it looks like you already have, your smile, and your business cards. Sit up front so you can see any presentations conducted and participate fully. Introduce yourself to the people next to you before they intro themselves to you if you can - shows friendliness. REI members are excited when new members show up, so they'll love to see you - we were all at our first meeting once and almost everyone remembers that first meeting. REI meetings are great! Really excited for you.

At our REI meeting, members have an opportunity to announce any deals they made that month - this is a great time to learn who does what. If someone is interesting to you, introduce yourself after the meeting and exchange contact info.

Also, it's ok if you just go and observer at first. You can take the above info as a "to do" for the future. Our REI group as a whole seems to understand the process of getting into the field with REI and that everyone does this differently. Our local REI leader is very outspoken that he attended for over a year without speaking to anyone or doing anything (not that that is recommended : ) - but...you will be welcome.
