Broker vs Managing Broker

I am just starting as real estate investor, and only had few deals done. I am looking for freedom to access MLS information and have MLS key to see properties, so I am thinking to get license.

Since I live in Seattle WA, I wonder what is the difference between Broker vs Managing Broker? Should I just get regular Broker license to get access to MLS?
I heard somewhere that Broker has to work for Managing Broker, but I cannot get Managing Broker license because I do not have 3 years of experience working in real estate. Can someone who done this before clarify which license I need.

Not sure Vlad but it sounds like to me that state counts agents as brokers.

The managing broker there sounds like the qualifying broker or principal broker of a firm.

So one has a brokerage with agents (brokers) under them and another one just a (broker) is an agent under the firm. That would be why a managing broker has to have the 3 years experience and not just a broker.

Different states call these different things. Here in Georgia an agent is called an agent and then you can obtain a brokers license meeting certain conditions after 3 years actively licensed in good standing and passing the test etc.

When you obtain a brokers license here under a brokerage you can be an assistant brokers or managing broker of the firm for broker support. Here the qualifying principal broker sounds like what they call their a managing broker.

Hopefully someone else can chime in and I might be totally off for your state. Sounds like you will be hanging your license as a broker under a managing broker there.
