Where to start real estate investing?

Hi everyone!

My name is Ryan and like all of you, I'm interested to begin my journey in real estate investing. I'm currently living in Ontario, Canada and the prices of buying a home is really expensive. Is it best for first time real estate investors to begin investing in the United States?

@Ryan Briones I hate to not provide the exact answer to your question but it really depends on what your goals and criteria are. I would start with zooming out and figuring out your "why". Why do you want to invest in real estate? Dig deep a few level to decide what your driving factor is. From there, write your why down somewhere where you will see it everyday and remind yourself why you want to achieve success. Use that why to help define your goal which needs to be measurable and time bound (i.e. buy a rental property before the end of 2021 that provides a 10% CoCROI). Next you need to network and build your team in whatever market has properties that can meet your criteria. Despite what the "experts" say, there are a lot of markets where you can buy cash flowing real estate right now. Find agents, property managers, lenders, and contractors in that area and establish good relationships with them. Leverage your team to help you find a good first property. Rinse and repeat.
