Should I stay away from multi-family that is too old (> 80 years)

Posted

I am looking to invest in Multi-family homes in Houston, TX. This is my first investment into building real-estate portfolio. I am coming across a lot of 1920s-1930s built properties. And some off them interiors are upgraded recently. Should i be concerned in how old the structure is ?

What are the things I need to consider while looking into the old multi-family homes ? Is there any calculation/ formulae out there that i can leverage to figure out if its a good investment deal or not ?
