Starting Out (NY-Westchester Area)

Hi Guys!

My name is Brandon and I am a 20-year-old aspiring real estate investor. I want to absorb as much information as I can and land some type of property deal within the next year or so (by my 21st birthday if I can in May). I would love to purchase or be part of a deal along the lines of some type of multi-family. I currently am employed full-time as a construction laborer in the area and at least for now have limited bills (car, rent, phone, groceries). This being said, I have already made it a goal in my life to retire young off real estate. I would love to learn and absorb as much information as I possibly can and so far I am HOOKED on everything I've read and seen. Now, I don't come from a lot of money or have connections just yet to fund a potential investment but I would love to learn how to gain that quickly.

Currently, my credit score sits at around a 680 as I just started to build it up (I'm sorry if this personal information is not usually shared within these forums) and I have a little over 5k saved up. In my area, this is not even a drop in the bucket for a down payment. I would like to do a deal within my area for a chance to manage it myself and learn the ins and outs of owning my first property.

I also would be fully open to working with other investors in order to gain insight and knowledge into this business as well as to land my first of hopefully many properties and deals.

So, I guess what I am asking today is: How do I raise capital, How do I network most efficiently, and what is the fastest possible route to gaining a property for my portfolio.

I would be grateful for a chance to talk to anyone in my area (over zoom or coffee) for a little insight into what investing looks like as a whole and primarily in Westchester, NY.

Some of my goals are:

-Retire Early (30-35 years old)

-Live very comfortably or better with the ability to travel when and to where I want

-Have more time for friends and family

-Build generational wealth for my future family

I know that this is a lot of information and can most likely have a post for each section I covered but I wanted you guys to get a little picture of my life, where I stand, and where I want to be/when I want to be there. I cannot wait to hear from you guys and I am grateful to anyone who has any advice or a moment to chat!
