What would you do if a China government official wanted to buy land near a U.S. military base?

Nothing.  I am very comfortable about the safety and security around our military installations. I have built buildings on some installations to share a little background.

I’m curious to the original poster what would concern you?

One of the greatest advantages, the US has to all other superpowers is the fact that we are pretty much in the middle of nowhere, with allies to the north and a country we provide a lot of support for the south in Mexico

If you’re gonna be worried about China, you should be worried about them attacking Taiwan, because more than 70% of all the most advanced semiconductor chips are made in Taiwan and South Korea.  Let’s just say those two territories do not have the friendliest of neighbors

I would say only if you let us buy fee simple in China next to their military bases. They are full of double standards and its time we push back.

My personal opinion is that we should ban foreign investment in our country. I don't see any big upsides to it

For the most part land purchases in the USA are not restricted, but restrictions are being implemented in some places.   If they were really smart, how would you know?  They'd probably create a generic sounding LLC....Bob's Farm Products, LLC and buy under that and chances are you would never know.

I think in Florida they restricted purchasers from 5 countries that are non-residents.  Some other states have had proposals.

One thing to think about is USA citizens buy property all over the world.  We even have foreign military bases in the USA.   I know Singapore has had several, Germany, I believe Frances and Netherlands.  Probably others. RSAF used to fly Chinooks for years out of Grand Prairie TX and had several hundred stationed here.  Often on 2-3 year deployment.  I rented to them for several years.  They've moved that base I believe to Utah or Nevada or somewhere in that area.
