Getting my real estate license, but I’m in the Air Force

Hello and thanks for looking at my post. I currently need advice on what to do while pursuing my real estate license. I am stationed in Texas, but will be moving to Nevada in about 8 months. I wanted to get my real estate license but I do not know if it’s worth it to get my license in Texas before I move to Nevada. It is to my understanding that Nevada offers reciprocity on a Texas real estate license. Is this true? Also, is there a fee, if so, how much, and is it possible to start my quest for a Nevada real estate license while living in the state of Texas…. Or should I get my Texas license and get my Nevada license?

I apologize for all the questions, but I do need the advice. Anything will help. Thanks a lot.

Very Respectfully,

Tyler Casados

Welcome to BiggerPockets!

I’m active duty Air Force with my Texas real estate license. Since only you’re in Texas for another 8 months (I love Goodfellow btw 😉), I recommend waiting until you’re in Nevada. The number of hours to complete a license in Texas is 180 and 120 in Nevada. Plus, it doesn’t look like your license is completely transferable, but check the link below to verify.

To get my license, I completed it in six weeks. I took leave every Thursday and Friday. I found a school that allowed me to download their material and I listened to it in my car. That was the difference for me.

I hope this helps.

I wish you all the best.
