What got you a successful first time home buyer client?

Hi! This question is for my Realtors whose niche is first time homebuyers! I’m getting closer to becoming a real estate agent and I want to know what made you successful at attracting first time homebuyers? I want this to be my personal niche as I’m new to home buying and so is my family. With that, I want to educate and help people find the importance of sizeable assets! If you have any ideas or suggestions please let me know! Thanks

Being a resource is really what First Time Home Buyers need. They need handholding while feeling empowered to make decisions.

Provide value to your SOI and they will come.

Also as a new agent you NEED to get your systems down now. It is extremely difficult being a Buyer's Agent. In one day I drove between three counties to show properties to clients. I had to have my wife drive so I can work on my laptop. There is a lot of time wasted with buyers so make sure you understand their goals, timeline, and make sure they are actually ready to move and not window shop.

Hello!!!!  I am 13 years in now but when I started out I did the same thing! SOI was the biggest way to gain clients.  Now I mainly work with investors in the Tampa Florida area and get most of my clients from here on BPs.

Open houses are a great source for first time buyers as they often don’t have a Realtor yet and are just looking.  Remember though, they may take a few years to be ready and will appreciate the education you can provide, which is why you stay in touch until they are ready and able.  Afterwards, they become a great resource for referrals to other first time buyers because you did such a good job educating and not giving up on them like many other Realtors do.

Or get together with Lenders and create first time home buyer classes.

My first buyer client came from BiggerPockets. He found me on the forums sharing info about the military and real estate investing. This is my niche. Plus, it helps when you are sharing your role as a real estate agent with your sphere of influence. My first seller client came from my SOI.
