What happens to a lead that comes in at 7pm on a Friday?

Buyer submits a contact form at 7:04pm Friday. Agent is at dinner — sees it around 9pm, decides it can wait until Monday morning.

By Monday the buyer is already working with a different agent.

This specific scenario came up in a conversation I had recently and it stuck with me. Not because it's unusual — but because it's so ordinary. It happens constantly and most agents don't even know when it's happening to them because the lead just... disappears quietly.

The part that's hard to fix isn't the follow-up itself. It's the window between when the lead arrives and when the agent finds out about it.

For agents here — what does that Friday evening window actually look like for you? Is there something covering it, or is it just accepted as a gap?
