Fast Tracking to Become an Agent for 2nd MFH

Hi Realtors!

I am looking for advice on how to best approach getting my real estate license, what courses to pick I can complete on my own time on weekends and evenings, and recommendations for brokerages.

I bought my first MFH and am in the process of underwriting my deal for the next one. A key component changed, the share of commission my prior agent will give to close due to them changing brokers. It sucks, but to salvage the timing of my deal, I need to get creative. I work full time, have no intention of becoming a full time realtor, but makes economical sense to do this sooner than later. The universe sort of gave me a nudge: now you have to for the deal to pencil.

Please give me your recommendations for real estate courses online or in person the weekend, as well as brokerages to join where I get economical benefit of snowballing deals once a year (with potential of one offs with friends from work).

Thank you so much!!

You should probably start here...

...and be sure you select the proper classes from "approved" providers such as listed here.

With regard to which brokerage, you need to determine which ones are willing to let you pursue investments for yourself, and what your real costs will be for MLS dues, desk fees, continuing education, brokerage percentage, and other costs...as well as requirements they may have for new agents.
