How to get started in short sales, distressed properties as a new agent

I am looking for the training of it.  What forms i need, what to say, how to put together a short sale package to present to the banks.  From start to end.

Any agents in BP recommend getting a (CDPE) or (SFR) Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource designation?

I would also like to get your view on if it is a good idea for an agent to focus on distress properties in California.  My thinking is history repeats itself and what goes up must come down so when the new bubble pops ill be there to help with the foreclosure and short sale process as an agent.

Thanks.
