How To Obtain a RE Agent List in my area

Question

Does anybody know if I can find an easily-downloadable list of real estate agents in my area, (Houston, TX)? I would be looking for a listing of real estate agents with some detail around status of their licensure, broker adress, length of time licensed,etc....

Thanks for the replies. I can't seem to get the detail around length of time licensees have held their licenses here in Texas from the TREC website. Perhaps I am not looking in the right places.

Sounds like every state has a similar search, including Idaho.  Keep in mind that the length of years they have been licensed doesn't usually equate to knowledge about investing in real estate.  Stating the obvious too...if you are personally looking for a real estate agent for investing,  I might start by searching right here on BP.   Search the agent members, but more importantly, network with local BP members and ask for referrals.  Happy investing!

Just to chime in, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has a similar search tool where you can verify a license and see the status of a licensed Real Estate Agent or Broker.

Don't know about there but here in Nevada the licensing is handled by the State division of Real Estate In the Department of Business and Industry.  A little internet searching should come up with it try Texas Real Estate Licensing.  Our data base is searchable by name, license #, Brokerage and show how long and the status of the holder.   Hope that helps.

You can go to HAR.com and click on the "find a professional tab." There you can look for agents in Katy. I think the rest is overkill because they wouldn't be a member of HAR if they were not in good standing with TREC.

But if you want to dig into that, you can go to the TREC website and look up any licensee in Texas. There's a search feature at the very top of the page.
