Getting licensed - insight appreciated

We have been in the construction business (my husband is a GC), the investing business and now I am getting licensed in the state of Florida for RE. Any insights, suggestions, tips etc on keeping things on the up and up (disclosing I know is important) but in marrying the two sides of real estate would be appreciated.
