Is it possible?

Question

Hey my names David. I'm a  17 year old high school student who loves the real estate buisness. It all looks so perfect. But there's a problem, is this a realistic occupation for someone just about to exit high school? In other words is this a good job to get into as soon as I get out of high school? Will I make enough money to survive? Is the real estate market difficult to work in? Is my age for this not appropriate? Sorry for all the jumbled questions but I really want to get into this occupation and just need help figuring things out from u pros :) thanks

David... now that's a great name!  haha

I was 19 when I first started and was only made it 6 months.  Had three listings, but didn't realize you actually have to "sell" something to get paid.  Who knew!

It's definitely possible to succeed.  But go around and make friends with top agents and ask for referrals.  Ask to do open houses, etc.

Learn a trade, and learn how a house works top to bottom. Consider doing some contracting work for people while you work your way into the business. Best of all, you won't have student loan debt bogging you down.

As you'll find on these forums, many people need a young aggressive contractor. That's your foot in the door. Then soak up as much knowledge here on BP in tandem.

Hey there @David Esquerra. It's absolutely possible. Yes it is hard. You probably won't  make a killing at first, and your age will be a slight hurdle. So what? Hurdles can be jumped. Real estate is simple bit not easy.

My advice would be to really do some research and join an established team They can really shorten your learning curve and should be able to help w some leads.
