Go back and tell your younger self anything...

Hey, all!

Currently, I am studying to take the PA real estate license test. As I look forward to my career in real estate starting I often think about what those who are successful in the industry do to separate themselves from the pack.

If you could go back and tell yourself, as a fresh real estate agent, anything that could help speed up your success from the get go what would it be? Would you do anything differently?

Look forward to hearing what you all have to say!

I started investing at an early age. I got tied up with other businesses, etc and dropped to the sidelines. I wish I had the brains to have stuck with it through the years. I missed a LOT of time that could have been used building future income. I would use my agent license to not only help others, but to invest in RE. As an agent, you have the opportunity to list OR purchase properties offered to you. Buy the good ones and list the others. Either way you can make money. Today, I don't chase listings or work with buyers due to time constraints. My entire focus is HML and acquiring more income streams. Don't get me wrong some agents make a LOT of money as agents. However, 80% or more of new agents are out of the business within five years. It is a tough career but can be very rewarding. That being said, the wealthiest agents and brokers I know are investors. Buy income streams for future security!
