Real Estate License

Hi guys, I’m really interested in getting my real estate license and becoming an agent. The problem is I’m only 17, so I would be starting around 19 years old. I’ve researched a lot and I keep hearing people say that being young in real estate makes it very hard to succeed, due to lack of experience . And I was just seeing if I could get any advice on whether I should pursue my interest in real estate now or not.

I would encourage you to begin putting together a personal database of everyone you currently know.  It takes a lot of time on the front end of your business to get this together... names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, the whole lot.

Take the time to sit down and put it all into an Excel Spreadsheet.  Then pick 5 people a day to start contacting, letting them know now that you are about to get into the Real Estate Business.  Find a good broker near you that will take you under his or her wing and train you.  Shadow them on some deals.  Ask lots of questions.  Put yourself in the humble position of a student and learn as much as you can from people who are successful in what they are currently doing.
