How much to purchase a MLS account in Indianapolis

Question

My wife just passed the agent test. We want to have access to MLS in Indianapolis ourselves. That is, we don't want to work for any broker/agency. Does anybody know how to do that? And how much is it? Thanks.

Yep, you have to have a broker hold your license for at least 1yr. Then she can take the broker class and hold her own license. The MLS is about $1000 to start and to maintain annually.

As mentioned above, you have to work under a broker. You will probably have about $1000 of fees to start and may have desk fees every month depending on which broker you work with.

You will have to hang your license with a broker to have access to the MLS.  Everyone would do what you did if it was that easy.

Indiana has two different licenses.  One is a sales person license and one is a broker license.  They are NOT the same.  As a sales person you have to work for a licensed broker.

Typically MLS licensing follows a similar hierarchy which helps the board manage responsibility and liability for the listings.  You can get a sales person access under a broker.  The broker she puts her license with will be able to fill her in on the fees and company policies surrounding their MLS accounts.
