Access to MLS?

Question

Hi I am an investor and was wondering if there is a way to get access to the MLS without an agent/broker?

MLS access also generally gives you access to the property tax records, giving you the ownership information and history also.

In some counties, there is the option of gaining access to the MLS as a Realtor's assistant.  This may be a good option, if you aren't trying to share the access of an existing realtor (most systems monitor/restrict concurrent logins).  Perhaps offer something of value to the Realtor, such as retail leads you don't have a use for, and they may find that an even trade for you to be their assistant with your own access.

Thanks for your replies guys. 
Been procrastinating a lot while working on the properties we have atm. I duno we've just been looking in the Long Beach area for properties with good cashflow. 
probably 4-12 units but haven't found much that caught my interest. I probably haven't been as active as I should.
Mainly looking on redfin.com it's a great resource and seems to have most of what's on the MLS

On the public side you can get the address, pricing, etc., but as Bill Gulley mentioned, no ownership records, loans, etc. The question is, what information are looking for?

Do you have a builder or an appraiser in the family? Only members of the MLS have private access, you do have access on the public side. And again, owners are usually not listed on the MLS anyway, just Realtor notes and perhaps some more info. Good luck...
