New Agent - Should I incentivize for my first transaction ?

Hello, as a new real estate agent, I am looking to get my first listing and I’m wondering if I incentive the transaction, is that a good idea/place to start?

For example, if I offer like $1K back.

I am trying to get at least one transaction done before 2019 is over.
