Advice for New Agent
Hello everyone!
I’m a new agent out in Oregon who’s had his license active for roughly one month now. I’ve been working hard to generate leads and find potential clients and have been met with near silence from all my efforts thus far. I’m working on a limited budget to help with my generation and do some in-person networking when possible but COVID certainly has not helped. I so far have primarily focused on social media outreach and reaching out to FSBOs in the local area - along with conversing with every person I get the chance to at either my other job or when I’m out and about.
Does anyone have any advice on how to better find potential clients and what I can best do to set myself up for success at the start of my professional real estate life?
Thank you!

First off, I'm not an agent, but I'm married to one. Starting out is rough. It took her 5 months to close her first deal. Stic to it. Here are some things I learned from her:
Dont bombard your network with requests for leads. Instead, maintain a presence by posting light-hearted topics. For instance, she follows "The Lighter Side of Real Estate" on Facebook and shares some of their stuff.
Keep in touch with not only past clients, but current ones as well. There is a dead period when you're waiting for closing. Some clients can feel like you have forgotten about them. A simple text saying "nothing new, hope yall are well" goes miles.
Play the long game. Don't work to make an extra $500 off the current deal at the expense of your/the other agent's clients. Most people will buy a new house every 5 years or so. Be a good experience.
Good luck and I wish you the best!
