How to find a REI for Mentorship?

How does one with no RE experience find a real estate investor to offer a bird dog services in hopes of mentorship in return? I’m currently doing DoorDash so gain extra capital on the side while I prepare to become a full time agent. How can I use to this to my advantage??

Focus on the driving aspect in terms of how you can help someone. We use Uber drivers as property searchers all the time so doing DoorDash gives you the chance to look for homes in need or repair. Learn what to look for (high grass, cracked driveways, abandoned cars, crooked shutters, piles of mail) and go to some local virtual or in-person meetups and see who you can connect with. You have to have a value proposition about what you bring to the table in order to find a mentor. No one is going to mentor someone in this business if there isn't something coming back on the other end. Being out on the road is a plus, use it.

Even if you don't have RE experience, I'm sure you have something to offer. Think quality of work, or any other skills that you are proud of having that you could offer to anyone, in any industry that would benefit them. Perhaps you are good at researching, or good at networking. Anyone can benefit from these. Give it some thought and go after it. You got this.
