Is it me? Difficulty finding a Real Estate Agent in Hartford, CT

Jezelle John
Posted

Is it me? I am interested in multifamily properties in Hartford and I live in NY. I keep expressing my criteria and either they leave or do not respond back to me. All the agents I found so far from Zillow and realtor.com . I let them know that I am pre-approved, I have the down payment, and the property I’m interested in. Usually my statement will include

- triplex and up

-max budget 350k to 400k

- for 6-units my max is 500k as long as commercial lending approves

- interested in newer properties that are already occupied

-not to far from major hospitals

I explain that I am aiming to build a real estate portfolio and establishing long term relationships with the intention of buying every year or when a deal presents itself.

I welcome tips and ideas so I can improve my approach. I have a conventional lender, I have a commerical lender contact, and I am having trouble finding the right agents . I am finally using BP to try to contact agents but I don’t want to scare them off.

Replied

You might be encountering some of the following situations:

- Frustrated agents due to working a lot for free "writing many offers and losing time and time again"

- Some of the solo agents might be on holidays and do not have the systems in place to take clients when they are away.

If it is that hard, I would recommend trying to find an agent that has closed a few deals, someone that is trying to build a reputation and it's fully motivated to go at it again and again. They are out there.

I do not know your market but make sure what you are looking for in a property is realistic, so they can tell you've done your homework.
