Can you back out of contract?
My father recently passed and my mother is in charge of the house now. She has a broken jet tub that she wants to replace. She got one quote for $12k, which sounds crazy high to me. She already put down a $4k deposit. The work has not started. I am working to get other quotes. My question is: Can she back out of this contract? Even if she eats the $4k deposit, I think she would be better off. I can't imagine it costs more than $2k to install a tub. Thoughts? Suggestions? And thank you!
