Toledo contractors too busy?

Question

I've been looking for a contractor to deal with some issues with a small 6x8 bath and a section of floor that is sagging.  I'm more worried about the sagging than the cosmetics of the bath (though it needs redone badly).  I've called 5-6 handymen and/or contractors.  One is phasing out everything but roofing.  A bunch haven't called me back.  One that did scheduled a meeting to look at the job and provide an estimate was a no call/no show.  I need work done, cash in hand, and no one seems to want the job.  Anyone else have these issues?

No joke guys I just was on the phone with my realtor discussing the same problem. My crew is working nonstop on their own projects- the real estate market around here is picked up without a doubt. As a result people aren't looking for work like they were.

The good crews have more work than they can handle which means unless you have a personal connection to move up the priority list you have to either increase your pay or deal with the hacks that are still out there.

@Donovan H. I think I have the same issue here in my market.  We have a very active new construction market and it is a challenge to get remodel/renovation type jobs done.  Getting quotes, dealing with no shows, unreturned calls and the like are all the same things I'm dealing with.  Some quotes I do get are like "if you're crazy enough to pay me this much, I'll take the job."  I'm doing way more of the work myself than I want to.

I'm still hunting for a couple good contractors to allow me to turn a corner and accelerate my deal flow.  No need to push for more deals right now until I have the contractors with the capacity to get the work done.  It's what makes me serious about looking to other markets for opportunities where there is less new construction and more competition (better pricing) for remodel/renovation contractors.

Stupid question, is this job in Toledo? If so I might have a handyman that can help out.  I'm in Cali and just bought property in Holland that my guy is remodeling.
