Contractor Payment ($)

A potion of the agreed upon contract was not fulfilled. I expect there may be more before the work is finished.

Contract states all flooring will be removed (ie carpet, padding, staples, tacks, linoleum) that is listed under one category and price.

All the linoleum was not removed and the vinyl plank was installed on top with the padding.

I caught them early on before the first room of linoleum was about to be laid over with new flooring and told them to remove it. I was not there when the hallway and foyer was done and saw they did not remove it because the quarter round was not put down yet and allowed me to see (after pulling up one plank) they laid over top.

How do I adjust for payment to deduct what was not completed? It’s all one price for demolished.

Thank you

@Daria B.

I install about 3000 ft² of vinyl plank a month and in most cases if it's for a remodel we always go over linoleum. It provides a nice flat substrate and acts as an additional vapor barrier and even gives it more cushion.

Never had a issue with a customer.

Manufacturer warranties for products like this are irrelevant.
