Good Morning Biggerpockets,
I am a rookie real-estate investor in Bel Air, MD who is looking to gather a team together. My goal is to purchase BRRRR type properties. I've already purchased one turnkey buy and hold property, but want to begin scaling faster. My preferred hard-money lender has been identified, but I am looking to find an honest and fair General Contractor to build a positive, professional relationship with. Any suggestions and recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi Brandon, welcome to Bigger Pockets! General contractors are considered the hardest member of your team to identify (good ones at least) and you will very unlikely have any success finding one via an internet forum. Your agent, and maybe even your property manager, should be able to help you find one. Also, building relationships with other investors, offering them value, can be another route to get a reference to a good general contractor. I have the mentality that I may end up going through a few contractors before I find one that is solid. Best of luck!

@Brandon Harbold Hi Brandon, I'm a newer investor myself with one deal under my belt and working on my 2nd. I posted about my 1st deal here:

It's certainly been challenging over the last year with no in-person REI meetups. I look forward to them starting up again next year. My favorite resource has been the 'Maryland Investors Network' Facebook group. Lots of good content on this very active group.

Stephen,
I just read your post. Tons of awesome info! Congrats on the successful start of your business. I am still new to REI and have made my fair share of mistakes on my first deal. I am looking to get involved in groups, so I will definitely be joining the Facebook group you mentioned. Thank you for your time Sir!
