What is up with the site?

Question

Trying to post is maddeningly slow! The cursor does not keep up with what is actually typed, causing my fat fingers to to mistype multiple times per sentence requiring a go back to fix. I've never seen such a lag on any other forum.

Well, oddly, NO other sites were acting the way this one was. I have never had an issue like what I was seeing here, and keep my computer and software well up to date. However, I did notice, after reading your response, that the browser was indicating "update available", which is common. I went ahead and updated it by just restarting the app, and magically All is Well! I truly have not experienced that kind of behavior previously...not for just one site.

What is up with the notifications? I received an email notification, but when I visit the site, indeed there was a new post, but the notification does not show up on the notification tab (under the bell icon). Also, I have noticed that I sometimes get an email with multiple notifications for different topics and subforums, but when I go to the notification tab on the site, again they do not all show up at all.

This seems like very odd behavior. Also, even though I commented above that my initial "lagging" behavior issue cleared after restarting the browser, I have noted it several times since then. Each time the behavior has reverted to "normal" without me taking any actions other than leaving the site and returning an hour later. This is very disconcerting behavior... I am on a number of other forums where these issues are not present. Several also have an "edit" feature for posters that can return and edit their posting, reposting the update. This is a very useful capability!

It's not slow for me. You might try clearing your cache, rebooting, and it's possible you're infected with some sort of bug.

Or, it's just a long way to swim for those poor little 0's and 1's that make up the data stream and they get tired.
