Can I delete a post I placed in the Marketplace?

Question

I have two questions.

I recently created a post in the marketplace asking for some guidance on a deal which looks like it's not going to happen. I could be wrong but that's the feel I'm getting from the seller after briefly talking to him once he got his hands on my option contract. I had to email it to him because he's 4 hours away. Anyways I don't want anybody contacting me about this particular deal to only find out that I've wasted their time. So I think it's best to delete it.

My other question is "how do I contact colleges when I want to see if their interested in partnering up on a deal?

If there is place on your site where these types of questions are already answered please let me know where that's at.

You can post a follow up in the thread letting everyone know the deal is no longer available.

Regarding colleagues, you can send colleagues private messages.  You may want to start a dialog with them and see if they are comfortable giving you their email address.

Thank you all for your advice. It is greatly appreciated. I have started reading the sticky notes John. You were right it is a good place to start.

Jon from Colorado; I will take a pause and consider everything before I create another post. From what I'm seeing in the forums you guys are great at assisting newbie’s with there questions so I'm going to start making it a point to ask before I leap.

@David Perez follow @Dawn Anastasi 's advice and update your thread saying the deal is off the table.

Be very careful when sending PM's offering a deal.  If you KNOW they are interested in receiving the message, go ahead.  Even then don't just send the same message again and again to different people.  The system will detect this and block your ability to send or receive PM's at all.  If you send a message to someone who isn't interested in receiving such messages, they may report your message to us as unwanted spam.  If that happens, we may have to disable you ability to send PMs or suspend your account.  Whether or not the recipient reports it to us is completely at their discretion.  That's why I say be sure you know they want to receive the message.
