Am I missing something? Where are the stickies?

Question

Hey, I just stumbled across this forum in a google search and I am glad I did.  There seems to be a lot of great information and intelligent people here and I look forward to learning a lot and hopefully giving back some of that once I get some experience under my belt.

Now before I go and ask the same questions that I am sure have been asked a thousand times before I wanted to check the stickies.  But there are none??  Or am I missing something?

Yeah, and FAQ thread would be great.  Simple stuff like:

-must read books/websites
-where to research
-explanation of the 2% rule and 50% rule
et cetera, et cetera

Perhaps a thread entitled FAQ (frequently asked questions) and post the most commonly asked and answered questions in one thread.
You could create subcategories for this, such as a FAQ for newbies, and a FAQ for seasoned investors.

Josh, I do like that idea. I don't know if you have anyway to sort stuff into how many times certain topics have been posted or not. For example (not to call anyone out) I just saw another post for postcard vs letters. I am pretty sure this is a common post.

Maybe there was a way you could just make some pretty broad ones such as, landlording, marketing, wholesaling etc.,  people can get some answers right away by just looking and others won't have to answer questions repeatedly, and would cut down on the "you can use the search tool...". This would definitely help newbies like me!

Ok . . . Interesting idea.

Perhaps create a forum and each topic on the forum contains links to different topic areas that we find to be important?

EG.  Forum Title: Important Posts (or something more clever)
Sample Topic: Landlording
Sample Post: This would contain a bunch of links to important topics on the forum in the area of landlording . . .

Is that what you had in mind?

Hey Doug and welcome to the site.  We don't presently maintain a large number if stickies, as if we did, we'd have pages and pages of them.  There are hundreds to thousands of important posts, and to make them all sticky would simply overwhelm the forums.

We're absolutely open to suggestions as to other ways to emphasize important topics.  If you or anyone else has any suggestions, please do let us know and we'll see if we can put these ideas into action.

I look forward to the ideas.
