Blogs can anyone write them and BP will publish them?

Question

Anyone know how you get to write a blog and then BP puts it on the website.

a blog is just a short article correct.. about some subject ( real estate related for BP).

Do you have to qualify to write a blog on BP.. do you submit them for approval.

do they give you subjects to write about or just wing it...

thanks in advance for anyone who has done this.  I myself never have but I was thinking maybe I could do a few on some of the more obscure things I have done RE related that are really never talked about on BP and could be of interest for those that want to go deeper into some of the non traditional RE type of investments.  IE rental hosues and flipping which is pretty well covered here.

Yes Jay, anyone can write a blog, including someone with little or no experience or knowledge, they can just yak away all they want to.  The trick is to make it sound like the blogger has expertise they are sharing. It could be story time too! I've not seen to many jokes in blogs, but I have seen jokers.

BP also has awards for blogging, so you could start earning those too. :))

Hi @Jay Hinrichs. What @Lisa Kohl is talking about is a member blog, which is available to all members. You have your own blog, which BiggerPockets hosts for you. As long as you are not promoting obvious spam or your own company, the posts have very loose rules.

I believe you are talking about writing for the official BiggerPockets blog, which does have more stringent requirements.

@Jay Hinrichs Anyone can post a blog post here on BP. I don't believe there is necessarily a approval process. Typical blog post will run about 700-1000 words or so.  All you do is go to your BP dashboard and the top header has options such as Profile Options, Network then Blog. Drop down menu has write a new post.
