Can I post about.....?

Question

Hi all,

Since I joined BP, there have been so many changes on the website! (all good of course :)) However, I want clarification on what I can post in the forums. Is there a document laying out all of the rules?( I've been trying to search for  a thread I thought I saw.)

Specifically, can I post that I am looking for a specific property?

Thanks for asking. We've laid it all out in the Rules and Terms of Use, but there are a few basic rules that will cover what you're asking about.

1. No Advertising. Many times, what is being posted isn't considered an advertisement by the person posting - but IS considered advertising by us. Basically, if you are looking for or offering a deal, product or service, you're advertising. There is only one place for ads, and that's the Marketplace forum. You'll need a Plus or Pro membership to post there, but any member can read that forum.

2. No Self Promotion. For both you and your company. You can post what you do in your profile (and we encourage you to do so) but the only other place you can talk about your company or the services you offer is in the Marketplace.

We do this to keep the forums free from spam and junk that clogs up most other online forums. We want to keep the information readily available, rather than force you to wade through the stuff that isn't going to help you further your investing career.
