Time spent posting, how do you do it?

Question

I gotta say, I love Bigger pockets! My question is, how do some of you guys spend so much time posting answers? I am a full time investor, and have people under me that I manage. I see some folks on here with a gazillian posts! How do you find the time? I am not being sarcastic, I really want to know how much time you allot for this, and how it fits into your schedule. I do love being on here, but with an active investing business, a wife, and 3 kids, I am swamped!

I think some people use the site as a way to promote themselves and their businesses. Gaming the system to have a high "influence" makes them look more attractive to newcomers, and they can then "help" these people spend their money.

Some other people have been on the site for a very long time to get the high post counts.

I think most people are just here to help, and stop by when they can to take a look around and post in areas they have experience. The people, like yourself, who are very busy in their business and come by when they can are generally the guys I try to pay the most attention to.

Just like an investor would have time set aside for searching for a new property, talking to homeowners, etc., I think it's also a good idea to have some time set aside for BP. I consider BP as continuing professional education for myself. I don't think there's any place better than BP to get educated in real estate.

Also, Marc made some great points. I think anyone who spends a few days on BP can figure out that some people here are just posting to inflate their influence points, but to each his own.

Those of you who have issue with the influence system -- we've heard from you - many times, in fact.  Over the years we've had many people who strategically work the system to raise their influence score.  This happens in every single online community where awards or points are given out.

While some people may be attracted to those users with sky-high influence, most are more concerned with those people who provide great feedback and valuable info.  In most cases, those are the same people.

i go in cycles...some days are slower (this week it's been raining), so i can check in quite often from my phone or computer..some days it'll be 3 or 4 days til i get to check in bc i'm swamped...i also don't have kids so that helps  :)

i should also add that i do business with a few people from BP, so out of that relationship, comes the responsiblity to get on BP and commnicate with them...and then since i have the old laptop fired up, i might as well stay on for a few minutes and read the forums!  :)

I am absolutely blessed by having my wife as a stay at home mom, If she was in the workforce, things would be crazy! She does a much better job with the kids than I ever could. The funny thing is, she has an MBA, and I barley graduated high school! LOL!   :lol:  Maybe I should stay home and run daddy daycare, she could probably do better than I do in business!

I just like reading all the posts in between working with clients.

I could be on BP less and work more on my marketing mailers and I will soon.Do not have any kids yet so that has something to do with extra time.

My brother-in-law has one kid that is going on 3 and both him and his wife work as managers in Retail.I do not see how they stand it or survive.

Luckily my wife is a homemaker so when we have a kid it won't be as bad as dual workers.
