The new forums are a swing and a miss. Sorry.

The new forums are behaving erratically.  When I view a post and then attempt to go back (using the "back" button in my Firefox 91.0.1 browser) to where I was, I get bounced to the beginning of the posts in that forum, even if I was several pages deep.  That's VERY frustrating.

Trying to r-click on a post to see more in a new tab, it does the same.  Right back to the top post in the forum.

These two behaviors make browsing the forums very frustrating.  There is too much induced friction.

I also agree with @Jay Hinrichs regarding the inability to jump to the last post.

I vote for the now-missing "Go to Old Forums" button.

I don't think it is you that should have to apologize. This is one of many threads going on right now expressing everybody's dislike for the new forum layouts and loss of user ability. So far, only one of hundreds have "liked" the new change. It is going to be very difficult for many of us to continue on as previously with this new website layout.
