Is this something we need, if we plan on financing the MH's ourselves? Do we have to be licensed now? Or will we soon?

Hi, last I read, they were asking for exemptions for HM dealers, but you might need to. Contact your state finance department, if they have a plan in lieu of the SAFE Act, HUD will allow the state to manage the intent of the laws, MHs might be exempted by your state and they will know if HUD was looking the other way so to speak in adopting the state version. Check with your state financing authroity or regional HUD office (in the compliance section). Good luck, Bill
