Window and French door swap

Hello, 

hoping all the contractor on here can give me an insight on this project. 

Got a about 8x8 window and a standard patio door.  

Looking to take out the window and put in French door and install a window where the original door is at. 

So far I have only gotten one contractor out for an estimate of $8000.  Everybody else I call is too busy.  Is this a fair price ? The last picture is what the finish project would look like.

Check his references, if they are good, he may just be an old timer that doesn't like cell phones, texts and emails and the like...I still have friends that just have flip phones and rarely even use those.....
