Purchasing a house using a quitclaim deed

I'm considering purchasing a house in NYS using a quitclaim deed for $1.00. The seller purchased the house from one of his family members using a quitclaim deed for $1.00. If the original deed has someone else's name on it, can I get out of the quitclaim deed? If anyone has any information about this please send asap.
