Condo AC replacement - personal property

Hello All,

I live in a 3 bedroom condo. Due to the recent summer heat, our HOA is trying to get a couple units together to bulk buy and upgrade the individual AC units for each condo unit owners. It's optional for each owner who want to opt in.

My units AC unit is operating fine. My AC tech said it looks fine, though it’s around 12-15 years old and may need to be replaced in the future. I tune Up my AC every year to get it checked before summer.

Would you replace this AC unit and join the hoa for bulk purchase? The only benefit would be discount due to group purchase of labor fees, potentially AC unit cost, and the crane / permit fee since we live in a condo complex.
