Buying property in the Caribbean

Kevin Malloy
Posted

Hello everyone. I have a question about buying property in the Caribbean. Specifically, I am looking to rent out/lease/Airbnb the property until I can retire and live there full time. I Does anyone have experience with owning investment property in the Caribbean? I was looking to expand my portfolio to Belize due to their low taxes. I was wondering if anyone has any advice or lessons learned from investing in the Caribbean. Thanks in advance!!

Kevin

Watch the Will Mitchell youtube videos about Belize and Secret Beach.

We are continuing to invest in Belize but from a Forestry and Lifestyle model.   You can get my perceptions.  Just use the look up on my name and Belize.

Most people I would recommend not to invest in Belize.

It is a 2nd or 3rd world country.

Need to be careful on ownership.

There is no market to sale so you have to make your profit coming in.

If your looking at San Pedro or Ambergris Caye I would spend a lot of time researching utility infrastructure for the whole island.
