Losing a bid on a condo in Plainsboro NJ

Residents in the vicinity would readily identify this as a high-demand, low-inventory real estate market. A 2-bed/2-bath condo was listed on MLS/Zillow with an asking price of $235,000, requiring moderate rehab.

Despite my competitive offer of $286,000 with no contingencies and the flexibility to accommodate a delayed closing of up to 6 months, I ultimately lost the bid to someone offering less but sweetening the deal with a generous offer of 3 months of free accommodation post-closing.

In the fiercely competitive real estate landscape of NJ, especially when sellers are asking for delayed closings, incorporating the incentive of a few months of complimentary stay can make a winning difference!
