Buying real estate with part time income

Hello everyone!

My husband and I are eager to get back into real estate investing but I am recently post partum with a baby boy. Now that I have returned back to work only part-time I am finding it difficult to get qualified for a mortgage. They want 2 years history of working part-time. Are there any other options? We owner occupied multi-families in the past that we have since sold and we currently own and occupy a single family home. We would be looking to buy another rental or possibly second home (10% down) to airbnb. Thanks!

Hey @Sadierose Saucier, welcome to the BP Forum! There are lenders out there that provide other options, but they often either have higher fees and/or require higher down payments. Do you have a specific property you're interested in?
