College graduate looking for first investment!
Hello everyone!
My name is Daniel Suarez and I am from Miami Florida. I just graduated college as a Civil Engineer and I already have a full time job as a land development engineer at a very good company. I am looking forward to giving my money good use and not waste it in cars or alcohol.
My current salary is of about 55k a year and I have about 10k cash. I am not married or have any kids so I would really like to take action now that I have no one else to think about before doing something crazy. Oh, and very important, I have no college loans to pay back either since I got full scholarship. My credit is very good I could say; Its young but I have been carefully building it for 6 years since I was 18.
I would like some advice as to what are the best ways to start investing in my situation. Should I start with a multi-family, or an old house that needs renovations? I don't really know. What do you experienced folks think I should do? If you need more info in order to give a better answer please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Hi Daniel Suarez
I am probably stealing @Brandon Turner 's line but check out the Ultimate Beginner's Guide ... Biggerpockets.com/UBG
It can give you an idea of the investment options you have available and be a starting point for more research.
Highly recommend J Scott's book "the book on flipping houses" and Mark Kohler's book "what your CPA isn't telling you" for anyone learning REI (like I currently am).
Also, specifically because you mention being in Florida and being a civil engineer... Check out Florida tax liens and do some research there.
I am looking to rehab and resell in the Space Coast area - best of luck starting up and learn fast.
