Bp family I am in the Washington DC area while doing a addition they asked for a soil test while getting my blue prints from the permit office does anyone have a idea what it will cost and who does then for a 40x20 addition thank for help
Are you talking about an environmental test? I had one done last year buying a radio station with towers/land involved as part of the due deligence,,the company I hired had someone come out and do the test for about $2k, there are different levels of testing,
select layers > environment > soil type
then put your address in "location" box on the right.
you can also use USDA.GOV.
If they want a compression test because of the addition then you need a soils engineer.
We pay between $800 and $1600 for a soil borings. When using pilings on a site we know will need them, just not the legnths, we use a guy that comes out and just does one boring and gives recommended piling depths. For other areas / sites they do two tests and provide about a 16 page detailed report.
thank you so much And chad and ty for the advice was lost on that one but have a good idea on were to start looking
