Where are you finding your deals?

Question

I know most of you have access to the MLS or have a realtor that does. What I am asking is how do you search for homes to analyze when you don't have access to it. Trulia and Zillow can sometimes be misleading and show older properties that have already sold. I want to be able to see newer listed houses and their prices so I can perform better analysis on the houses. Again, I don't have access to the MLS and I don't want to get a realtor because I am just trying to analyze different houses and areas around me. I'm not ready to pull a trigger any time soon.

Redfin.com is fantastic.  For comps they list nearby sold and nearby on market.  History of prices and details about room sizes and photos are available.  There is a mobile app that works nicely as well.

I am not if Ohio has something similar, but here in Wisconsin wihomes.com is a sort of public mls. It doesn't have all the features of the acutal MLS, but it is accurate and up to date.

Ohio may have something similar!

Hi David,

Check them up on Zillow and then confirm prices and details on the county website.

In Ohio most county websites have all pertinent info available to the public.

While I don't think MLS is a good place to source deals, I agree with Account Closed . A license offers excellent education.

You should consider becoming a Realtor as having access to the comps can be very valuable to you should you start doing deals.
