How do I do a Quit Claim Deed

Question

Okay, I have a really basic question: How do I do a quit claim deed? Is there a form that needs to be drafted up by a lawyer? That sounds expensive and I thought they were supposed to be cheap.

I looked though the forums and there is great information about what they are but I didn't see anything that explained how to do them.

Since you're new to the investing arena, my first bit of advice would be to not step over a dollar to save a dime. I'm a proponent of the mantra;  Do It, Do It Right, Do It Right Now.

A QCD is no easier, or cheaper, than a standard Warranty Deed, or whatever it's called there.  They're both just a piece of paper, but with different words, and Vastly different meanings.  The perceived added expense to a "normal" deed, is if the buyers gets titles search and title insurance, which they most definitley should.  $200-300 should cover an attorney doing a deed the right way.

We have a piece of vacant land that we are selling. There is nothing special about the transaction and we would like to get it done for the lowest cost.

We have heard that is simple but we were talking to someone about it a long time ago so there are some cob webs in the memory space. Now that we are ready to try we got stuck on the first step of where to get started. Haha. We just need a direction.

If you need to ask......  Get an attorney to draft one for you.  You can ask/answer some questions too.  It would be helpful to know why you want to QCD something.
