Need Advice on how to conduct Meeting w/ Mentor

Hi BP Team,

Context: I have been fortunate enough to schedule some time with a real-estate investor that is in my local area. We met when I was looking at Apartments and he is one of the Developers of the complex. We got to talking and he said he has moved into Developing, but one of his big "projects" is house flipping. His target for 2015 is to flip 100 houses- so he has a LARGE SCALE operation obviously.

Recently, I reached out to him and asked if there was anyway I could add value to his business- he said he'd sit down with me. YAY! But now what do I do?

My thoughts on questions to explore:

  • Goal as an investor?
  • Ask about his criteria for flipping (location, price, deal analysis)
  • How does he find deals?
  • How he built his team? (GC, financing, agents, etc)
  • Who is his team?
  • Points of pain or challenges he is currently facing?
  • What does his daily schedule look like?

I would appreciate any advice someone has if they had the same type of opportunity to sit down across from a successful investor and potential future mentor. How should this meeting look?

Thanks,

Paige
