What's happening in Charleston's medical community really does hold an amazing amount of potential for the whole city and it's surrounding areas.   West Edge (formerly the Horizon Project) is the expanded medical research complex that I think Scott is referring to:

The vision for this was in place 10 years ago but the economic downturn put the brakes on it as it did so many things.  Now the fire is rekindled and it looks like it's all on go once again.    One of the more exciting aspects of this is how it supports/augments Charleston's push to become an East Coast tech hub..."Silicon Harbor" in case you hadn't heard the term before.
