Real Estate Agent Commissions in Florida?

Avital Miller

Do real estate agents in Florida divide their commission between the buying and selling agent or does just the selling agent get the commission?

Is there a good webpage someone can refer me to that lists how real estate agents or brokers divide their commission in each state?

Thank you!

p.s. brokers and agents are prohibited from practices that result in price fixing. A good broker will NEVER discuss their rates with another broker and potentially find themselves in BIG trouble. Agents should also refrain from rate/fee discussions with other agents. You probably won''t find any site where rates are posted/discussed between professionals. Besides this, the seller pays the commission, not the buyer. You, as a buyer, can make any offer you wish and the seller can accept, counter, or ignore it. If you wish to list a property, you can shop to find the rate that you like and the services that come with that rate.
