La Mirada is Orange County.  Inland Empire is very large.  You can drop 2 million on a house or 40k.

Ray, La Mirada is in the inland empire correct? I am by no means an expert, but personally I would invest in areas that I know. And if you don't know the area I would get out there and learn it! For example, I am from Santa Clarita but it is a bit out of my price range. So currently I have spent the last several weekends driving around the Palmdale/Lancaster area looking at potential properties, but also just learning the area. If you aren't ready to look at potential properties yet, maybe even just running a few of your everyday errands (going to the bank, picking up groceries, etc) will give you a little more insight on an area of interest.

Are you looking to invest only in your local area or areas around you?  If not, you will get several replies on suggested places to invest where you ROI will be much better than some areas in California.
