Wholesaling with realtors

Hello, I was wonder if someone could answer this question for me. Is it a good idea to work with a realtor on a wholesale deal? And what I mean by that is if a realtor is representing a property such as a foreclosure, is it smart to try to wholesale that same property?

@Quinterrius Eatmon - be careful with that train of thought.

Often the MLS is a great method of finding owners/sellers in distress. For example, a realtor will be able to find listings which have been sitting around on the MLS for months, or re-listings which have been advertised several times over the last 12 months, or have recently expired, or properties which have been reduced several times etc.

Working with a Realtor can provide you with added value to your business and provide that Realtor with sales he may not have otherwise had, if not for you asking the question and offering to work with him/her.

Don't exclude the chance to explore opportunities, which access to the MLS may provide - after all, do you think an investor wants to sit with a Realtor to go back 2 years through the MLS to find which listings have been advertised 4 or 5 times? No - he just wants to get properties he can spend time fixing up or renting out! Locating these properties is the wholesalers job!
