Lead in Buildings Built Before 1978

I’m listening to a Stuff You Should Know about lead poisoning and they’re saying buildings built before 1978 used a lot of lead. I’m about to buy a 100-year-old 2 flat in Chicago. Are there any tests I should get done or precautions I should take? I don’t want my organs to fall out!

If the property doesn't look like it's been renovated in 40+ years then you will want to avoid eating the paint chips
